TRIGGER YOUR BODY FOR PAIN FREE LIVING.

Pain in the muscles, around your eyes, in your back or in your head, is a common symptom that we all have at one time or another. Inactivity and too much sitting improperly in front of computer screens can cause trigger points to occur in your muscles. Trigger points commonly develop in areas of muscles, often in the back, neck and shoulder blades, and that may cause emotional exhaustion, depression and unhealthy and unproductive behavior.
  
Save yourself by sitting right from the start. You should sit in a firm, straight-back chair with your buttocks all the way back and avoid bending your back. The chair height should be adjusted upward until the work surface is at a comfortable level for a good posture when seated. If your chair is either too high or too low, you may have to tilt your head forward or tile your head back, leading to neck and shoulder pain.
  
Apart from sitting properly in your chair, you should frequently get up out of your chair and take a walk. You can also relax your muscles while sitting by clasping your hands together in front of your body, stretching your arms above your head with fingers interlocked and reaching toward the ceiling. Stretch out your arms to the right and hold for 15 seconds then stretch to left and hold. This can effectively help stretch your shoulders and neck muscles.

If you also want to relax your back, neck, body and leg muscles, you can stand with your feet slightly apart and stretch your body to the right and to the left. Repeat this several times.

But if you don’t want to catch your colleagues’ attention, you can simply sit up straight, place your hands behind your head and move your elbows backwards to pinch your shoulder blades together. Lower your left shoulder, and tilt your head toward the right, then repeat in opposite direction.

These are tips to treat and prevent muscle pain and trigger points.  Preventing yourself from trigger points will aid your relaxation as well as promote good health and productivity at work (and perhaps your salary).

A TRIGGER POINT IS A KNOT OR A TIGHT, ROPY BAND OF MUSCLE THAT FORMS WHEN MUSCLE FAILS TO RELAX. WITH RESTRICTED CIRCULATION AND LACK OF OXYGEN, THE TRIGGER POINT CAN TRAP OR IRRITATE SURROUNDING NERVES AND CAUSE REFERRED PAIN IN ANOTHER PART OF THE BODY.
