Rockworth reinforces its leadership in workplace design and innovation with the launch of the Smart Space Design Award 2026: Beyond the Workspace, in collaboration with BIMobject. The initiative provides a platform for students and independent designers to showcase their capabilities and present fresh perspectives on the future of workplace environments through creative, forward-thinking concepts aligned with evolving work styles.

Guided by a vision to create workplaces that go beyond functionality, Rockworth is committed to developing environments that foster creativity, encourage interaction, and unlock human potential within organizations. The program is designed as a space of opportunity for emerging designers to explore ideas and challenge conventional office design, placing greater emphasis on user experience.
This year’s competition is centered on the concept of five work modes, based on the principles of Activity-Based Working (ABW). Participants were invited to design flexible and adaptive environments that support a wide range of work activities—from focused work and collaboration to learning, social interaction, and relaxation—enhancing both productivity and the overall workplace experience.

Beyond providing a platform for creative expression, the initiative reflects Rockworth’s ongoing commitment to nurturing and empowering the next generation of designers. Participants had the opportunity to develop their concepts using Rockworth’s furniture and workplace solutions, competing for a cash prize of 5,000 THB while gaining valuable real-world design experience.
The winning project, “Flowing Mind Workspace” by Lapasrada Pornlert from Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Chiang Mai, exemplifies a human-centric approach to workplace design. The concept highlights inclusivity by addressing the needs of users with ADHD, through spatial planning and environmental design strategies that minimize distractions, enhance focus, and support optimal work performance.

The Smart Space Design Award 2026 reflects Rockworth’s role as an industry leader that not only continuously develops workplace solutions but also invests in the growth of emerging design talent. Through initiatives like this, the company contributes to advancing Thailand’s design industry toward a more sustainable and globally competitive future.
Rockworth extends its congratulations to all winners and participants, and believes that the experience gained from this program will serve as an important step in advancing Thai designers toward the international stage.
